How We Vet
Party Directory started with one frustrated parent: me, Chauntel, a local mom trying to plan my son's birthday and drowning in options I couldn't trust. So I built the directory I wished existed, one where every single listing is personally reviewed before it ever reaches a parent.
Here's the part that matters most: businesses can never pay to rank higher or to be recommended. Payment plays no role in what you see or what Get Matched suggests. Ever. A great little venue with no marketing budget sits right alongside the big names, because the only thing that earns a spot here is being genuinely good for kids' parties.
Every venue and vendor is reviewed against the same six-point standard:
Strong reviews. A 4+ rating across review platforms. Anything slightly below gets extra hands-on review before it's considered.
Recent, real feedback. Not just a high score, but recent reviews, proof they're still delivering today, not coasting on old praise.
Personally known or recommended. Places I've used myself, or that are personally recommended by parents in my circle.
A real online presence. Transparent pricing and a clear party process, so you know what you're getting before you reach out.
Easy to reach. A simple, obvious way to contact them, because a great venue you can't get ahold of isn't much help.
Truly for kids' birthdays. They specifically cater to children's birthday parties, not a venue that tolerates them as an afterthought.
If a business doesn't clear this bar, it doesn't get listed, even if they ask, even if they'd pay. That's the whole point. When you see a listing here, it's because we'd send our own kids there.
